- The freeware tier is genuinely free within its limits — no auto-upgrade, no surprise charges.
- You own the data you upload; we only process the cost metadata to render your dashboards.
- It's provided "as is" — you're responsible for decisions you make from it.
- You can stop and delete your account at any time.
1. Eligibility & acceptance
You must be at least 16 minimum age — to confirm and able to form a binding contract. If you use billingAI for an organisation, you confirm you're authorised to accept these terms on its behalf. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
2. The service
billingAI lets you upload a FOCUS-conformant cloud billing export (CSV or Parquet) and view your cloud spend in a dashboard. It reads the file you provide — it does not connect to your cloud accounts. From billingAI you may continue into Selcomm's Enterprise Self-Service environment, which is governed by Selcomm's applicable terms.
3. Your account
Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use. We verify your email address before activating the account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service unlawfully or in violation of any applicable regulation;
- upload data you don't have the right to process, or that contains another party's personal data without a lawful basis;
- attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the service, or circumvent its limits or security;
- resell or provide the freeware tier as a service to third parties, except as expressly permitted.
5. Your data & ownership
You own the data you upload. You grant Selcomm a limited licence to host and process that data solely to provide the service to you — for example, to parse the cost metadata and render your dashboards. We process cost metadata only and never the contents of your workloads. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Free-tier limits & fair use
The freeware tier is free within its limits, currently:
We may adjust these limits, and we may apply reasonable measures to prevent abuse. If you go beyond a limit, we'll explain your options — we won't auto-upgrade or charge you by surprise.
7. Availability
The freeware tier is provided without a service-level agreement. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, and the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or reasons beyond our control.
8. Intellectual property
billingAI, its branding, and its software are owned by Selcomm and its licensors. These terms grant you no rights in them except the limited right to use the service. FOCUS is an open standard of the FinOps Foundation; your FOCUS data remains yours and portable.
9. Third-party services
The service relies on third parties including Cloudflare (hosting, bot protection, analytics) and the Selcomm Authentication API. Your use of the downstream Enterprise Self-Service environment is subject to Selcomm's terms for that product.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. billingAI helps you visualise your own billing data; you're responsible for decisions you make based on it.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Selcomm will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the freeware service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Any aggregate liability is limited to liability cap — to confirm.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Selcomm against claims arising from your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms or of another party's rights.
13. Suspension & termination
You can stop using billingAI and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or to protect the service or other users. On termination, your data is removed in line with the retention periods in our Privacy Policy.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of governing-law jurisdiction — to confirm, and disputes are subject to the courts of venue — to confirm.
15. Changes
We may update these terms; we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, give a more prominent notice. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept them.
16. Contact
Questions about these terms? Contact Selcomm at contact email — to confirm. See also our Privacy Policy and data-handling page.
